Jonathan Vanderzon is a New York trained, Canadian actor of Dutch and Portuguese descent. His parents alongside his uncles, ran a landscaping and snow removal business south of Montreal. Raised on the outskirts of Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, at 9 years old he took to the stage as a means of improving his French.

Growing up he always had a knack for storytelling, and in addition to creating skits and homemade movies, he loved drawing as well as writing. Throughout high school, he balanced his time between competitive swimming, acting and academia, and graduated at the top of his class.

During his post-secondary education, he worked as a summer camp counsellor, a lifeguard and a swim instructor. He had already completed a health science degree and half of a Bachelor of Engineering before enrolling at an acting conservatory and pursuing his craft full time.

Like many industry newcomers, he’s done his fair share of docudramas and independent works, with intermittent appearances on American Film and Television productions. He’s held such eclectic roles as: Romeo, in a bilingual “Black Mirror'“ inspired take on Shakespeare’s tale, an informant in an Arabic Made-for-TV Movie, and Jesus Christ, in a mock perfume ad that landed him the Silver Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Fantasia International Film Festival.
